“I did the TOEFL exam again and I obtained 107 (26 in TOEFL Speaking). This helped me a lot for obtaining the Fulbright Fellowship. Your tips were extremely helpful for achieving this score, especially the part about being more natural in my answers and use more colloquial in my words.”
Jorge Gomez contacted me in December 2015. Jorge needed 26 on TOEFL Speaking – but had earned 23 on three previous attempts.
He signed up for a TOEFL Speaking Evaluation so we could assess his weaknesses and help him create a customized plan. After the TOEFL Speaking Evaluation, I told Jorge that the quickest way to achieve his score was to take 6-8 private lessons (private lesson are always the best way to achieve 26 on TOEFL Speaking). But some students do not have the budget for private lessons, so they must prepare by themselves. So, Jorge used the advice he learned in the TOEFL Speaking Evaluation, and prepared by himself.
In March 2016, I received this email from Jorge:
Jorge did it! He earned 26 on TOEFL Speaking and earned a Fulbright Fellowship.
I asked Jorge if we could include his story in our ’Success Stories’ and he said the following:
Well, Jorge, it was an honor to work with you and to help you earn 26!
Congratulations and good luck with your PhD program!
